Spring is slowly arriving here in Yorkshire after a long, hard winter so this week we're loving bright colours and lighter knits. In the UK you always need a cover up to hand, even in the summer months, so here are three of our favourite lightweight knits for 3 - 5 skeins of Titus
, all designed by Carol Feller. Pictured above is Dark Pearl
which is stunning in this Coal shade but would be magnificent in the sunny yellow of Brass Band. Titus Adrift
is another draped cardigan which we would love to see knitted in the bright green of our new Nidderdale shade. For a more traditional cardigan we love Autumn Whispers
and think it would glow in the deep pink of Rhubarb.
There were squeals of joy at baa ram ewe towers this week when we received a box of delicious jewel like colours from Sheffield-based hand dyer Black Elephant. This stunning 4ply sock yarn is guaranteed to make feet happy. The Fallen Leaves colourway pictured here sings of spring and makes us smile. We have 6 colourways in stock and every one of them is absolutely beautiful.
We are very proud of our Joelle who has recently launched her first collection of designs - the Untold Collection
. She says 'I've used slipped stitches, texture, stranded colourwork, lace, cables, steeking and entrelac. I love all these things but I think the entrelac shawl, Left or Right (pictured), is my favourite item from the collection. It's just so easy to add a little bit of interest to this great technique. So if you've been harbouring dreams of trying to make your own item totally from scratch I say go for it. You'll never know if you don't try!'
We'd love to see this gorgeous shawl knitted in our Pip Colourwork
yarn. How about the deep red of Wesley Bob or the peacock blue of Lotherton?
